The Artist

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures; He leadeth me beside still waters.
Psalm 23:2

Reena Mary Thomas

...is an emerging Visual Artist of Indian origin. She earned her Masters in Physics and loves to teach and discuss it's various topics of relativity regarding life and nature. She is an accomplished self-taught artist, specializing mainly in Acrylics, be it landscape, floral or abstract as she continues to grow and develop her creative gifts. Her art works are in corporate and private collections. Reena aspires to convey the truth in her paintings that we should try to admire each of God's ( Jesus's ) creations and walk closer with Jesus each day. This is what she has to share with the world at large:

"I paint what generally forces me instantly to paint, sometimes it could be a beautiful pot with anthuriums, adjusting its tones to sunlight falling on it or a flash of light falling onto leaves at night. It then takes me a few hours of studying and analysis to arrive at the truth behind it -- trying to find out what was there in it that made me think so much about it and finally, leads me into taking my brush and paint and quickly putting it onto the canvas before my ideas become stagnant. I paint anything or everything connected to nature, like a beautiful garden, sunset on water, a country road or anything else that seems to touch me -- talk to me. My vision of paintings or art will definitely inspire mankind to find out more about God's love for us, which will turn into a faithful consciousness and understanding of the meaning and purpose of life much better. Through my paintings I attempt to pass down the simple message that we are all just creations of God just like a beautiful river scene, the glory of setting sun, a beautiful flower dancing in the garden and so on. We as humans must embrace God's(Jesus's)will in order to survive on earth in admiration of it's beauty only by God's(Jesus's)Grace, which is indeed sufficient for life.

The late great Indian Master Raja Ravi Varma's paintings have always influenced me since childhood as well. During subsequent years my fascination turned towards Masters like John Constable, Monet, Turner and Wilson to name a few. My most difficult challenge is to depict reality as seen. It is sometimes painful, and or simply an impossibility. I don't really consider my paintings as being much different from other art, but I have the feeling that my paintings in a way are different because each painting has it's unique theme or subject .

The simple truth that each and every object is unique and each has it's own beauty and charm. Creativity comes from God(Jesus), the creator of all things. I AM ONLY A TOOL IN THE HANDS OF JESUS.
Life becomes beautiful and colourful like a garden when we start living for this Creator. Talents are from Jesus and should be used for His Glory. "

All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. John 1:3

He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. John 1:10
